Coordinate Plane

A 2-d figure or a plane on which the coordinates x and y are located. It has two scales called the x – axis and y – axis at right angle to each other.

X-axis - This refers to horizontal line, and they are both positive and negative in left to right direction.

Y-axis - The vertical scale is called the y axis and they are also both positive and negative in up and down direction.

Origin - It refers to the point where both the axis meets. And it is the point of measurement that means all the measure through axis is done by this point.

Quadrants - The four areas which are divided by the plane are called quadrants.
